The conductivity meters are instruments that measure conductivity or resistivity of a given solution. The solutions are capable of conducting electricity and this is reciprocal to resistivity. The bigger the number of salts, alkaline or acids are in a solution, the bigger the conductivity is.

The working principle is done with two electrodes, insulated one from another, placed on a well-known distance with known area. The ratio of the distance between and the area gives the so called “Cell Constant”. When connected to alternating voltage, current goes through the solution. The instrument measures this current and the given unit is expressed in S/cm.
