
Glucophage ®
Original metformin
The world’s most prescribed oral antidiabetic,1 used as the first line treatment for type 2 diabetes in all major guidelines.4,5,6 Glucophage® is an immediate release tablet, which is taken two or three times a day either during or just after meals. The formulation is available in doses of 500mg, 850mg and 1000mg tablets.
INDICATIONS
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in obese patients, when diet and exercise do not result in adequate glycemic control.
In adults
Glucophage can be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents or insulin.
In children
from the age of 10 and adolescents Glucophage can be used as monotherapy or in combination with insulin.
